Buy X Get Y Discount

1. Rewards section - Set Buy X Get Y conditions and free gift products
Explanation

Purpose
The Rewards section defines what customers must do before they can unlock a free gift. The merchant can choose the purchase condition, select gift products, control how many gifts can be selected, limit reward usage per order, and manage the campaign status from the right-side panel before saving.

Requirement options
There are three available requirement types. Buy product X rewards customers when they purchase a specific product. Spend X in collection Y rewards customers when they spend a required amount within a selected collection. Buy any product from collection Y rewards customers when they purchase a required number of products from a selected collection.

Free gift setup
After selecting the requirement, use the Add product button to choose the product or products that customers can receive for free. The gift quantity selector controls how many gifts customers can select from the available gift list. The maximum uses option helps limit how many times the reward can be used in a single order, which is useful for protecting profit margins.
2. Content section - Customize customer-facing reward messages
Explanation

Purpose
The Content section controls the text customers see before and after they qualify for the Buy X Get Y reward. These messages are important because they explain what the offer is, what action the customer should take, and when the reward has been unlocked.

Before reward text
The title and text before getting the reward should clearly explain the offer. For example, “Free Gift” can be used as the title and “Buy something and get something” can be used as the message. This appears before the customer completes the requirement and helps encourage them to add eligible products to the cart.

After reward text
The title and text after getting the reward should confirm that the customer has successfully unlocked the gift. A message such as “Yay! you got the reward” gives positive confirmation and helps the customer understand that the offer is now available.

Recommended wording
Keep the content short, direct, and easy to understand. Mention the reward clearly, avoid confusing conditions, and use friendly language that motivates customers to complete the purchase.
3. Targeting section - Choose which customers can see the rule
Explanation

Purpose
The Targeting section decides which customers are eligible for the Buy X Get Y campaign. This is useful when a merchant wants to run the offer for every shopper or restrict it to a specific customer group.

Customer target
When All customers is selected, the campaign applies to every visitor who meets the reward requirement. This is the best option for general promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and store-wide gift campaigns.

Use with customer segments
If the app provides other targeting options, they can be used to limit the campaign to selected customer groups, such as VIP customers, wholesale customers, or customers with specific tags. This helps create more controlled and personalized offers.

Best practice
Use All customers for broad marketing campaigns. Use customer-specific targeting only when the reward should be available to a defined group, because unnecessary restrictions can reduce campaign visibility and conversions.
4. Settings section - Schedule campaign active dates and time
Explanation

Purpose
The Settings section controls when the Buy X Get Y campaign should start and when it should end. This helps merchants schedule promotions in advance and avoid manually activating or pausing the campaign at the wrong time.

Start date and time
The start date and start time define when the campaign becomes available. The screen uses the browser timezone, shown here as Asia/Calcutta, so the merchant should confirm the timezone before scheduling time-sensitive offers.

End date and time
When Set end date is enabled, the merchant can define the exact end date and end time for the campaign. This is useful for limited-time sales, weekend promotions, launch offers, and holiday campaigns.

Final check
Before saving, confirm that the reward requirement, free gift products, content, customer targeting, and schedule are all correct. After the campaign is saved and set to Active, eligible customers will see the Buy X Get Y offer according to these settings.
Final Checklist Before Saving
  • Confirm the campaign status is set to Active when the offer should be visible on the storefront.
